Aloha Chapter
The (Associate) Aloha Chapter
was established on September 23, 2009, petitioned for full chapter status at the
National Conference (May 2010) and received full chapter status as of June 1,
2010. The charter officers are:
Yvette Flynn, President
Lauren Thompson, Vice President
Brian Campany, Treasurer
Herbert Love, Recorder
As with all organizations, strength comes from local chapters. The Aloha Chapter
is working diligently to become aware of both local and national issues that
could have an effect on the Navy and the Shipyard. The NCMA chapter constitutes
an effective means of communicating among Shipyard. Through business meetings,
guest speakers, luncheons, and social activities sponsored by NCMA, team
learning, knowledge sharing, and systems thinking is enhanced and contributes to
a smooth and efficiently run operation.
The Aloha Chapter is focused on improving the quality of work life for employees
taking into account the "whole person" and recognizing / appreciating /
leveraging diversity. It promotes effective leadership, including succession
planning, leadership development, knowledge management, and mentoring at Pearl
Harbor Naval Shipyard. The Aloha Chapter fosters the advancement of science,
technology, engineering, math, leadership, and the trades using a system
thinking approach and cultivating cooperation between departments, divisions,
sections and units of PHNSY. It leverages team learning and knowledge sharing by
aligning efforts and cooperating with other organizations representing Pearl
Harbor Naval Shipyard interests.
If you are a leader with a passion for, and the ability to, enable PHNSY
success; who influences the formulation and execution of policy, are the primary
civilian representatives of distinct organizational segments, or are responsible
for significant initiatives at PHNSY ... contact any of the officers or a
committee member and request an application.
